What is getting in the way?
Rural development is weakened when solutions are selected before communities, public responsibilities, local assets, market realities and the actual constraint are understood.

Mashinani is Goblis Foundation's Rural Development Support Program. It starts with a place-based challenge or opportunity, then identifies the right mix of community knowledge, enterprise, research, public responsibility and delivery capability.
The Mashinani Fund supports Goblis Foundation’s Rural Development Support Program: locally grounded diagnosis, partnership, delivery and evidence around specific rural opportunities and constraints.
We want supporters to understand the purpose before being asked to pay.
Rural development is weakened when solutions are selected before communities, public responsibilities, local assets, market realities and the actual constraint are understood.
Rural communities face interconnected livelihood, market, infrastructure, climate and service challenges. Effective support must connect local knowledge with accountable partners and evidence rather than impose a generic project template.
Support can finance diagnostics, community engagement, baseline work, field coordination, approved delivery packages, local partner capability and outcome measurement.
Rural communities and local economic systems where an evidenced challenge or opportunity can be addressed through coordinated community, public, enterprise, research or technical action.
Goblis owns Mashinani programme governance, diagnostics, partner coordination, field evidence and outcome-learning. Specialist partners remain accountable for the technical work they are contracted to perform.
Actual expenditure follows the fund purpose, approved budget, donor restrictions where applicable and delegated authority.
Confirm that this is the purpose you want to support.
A GFD reference and payment advice are created before money moves.
Use only the payment instructions released for that reference.
Bank/provider evidence is matched and the contribution is allocated to Mashinani Fund.
Reconciled support receives an acknowledgement; provider acceptance alone is not reconciliation.
Structured supporters receive the reporting/evidence appropriate to their agreement and purpose.
Fund allocation and payment reconciliation
Defined geography and approved workplan for structured support
Baseline/diagnostic evidence where applicable
Milestone and delivery evidence
Outcome reporting tied to approved indicators rather than activity counts alone
Give directly to the Mashinani Fund or structure geographic/thematic support under an agreement with defined place, budget, indicators and reporting.
Give to this fundCommunities, institutions and local actors can submit a rural challenge or opportunity. Submission is not an automatic promise of funding or implementation.
County/public institutions, community organisations, researchers and technical partners can participate through scoped roles, due diligence and evidence requirements.
Discuss a partnershipMashinani separates activity from outcome. Meetings, trainings, equipment and expenditure are evidence of activity; public outcome claims require the relevant programme indicators and verification.
Finance, activity, output and outcome evidence remain distinguishable. Goblis does not publish targets as achievements.
If your support requires a named sub-fund, geographic restriction, multi-year budget, reporting conditions, matching arrangement or organisational portal, start with the structured support route rather than a simple payment.
Start with one traceable reference. For larger or restricted support, use Create a Fund or Funding Partner so purpose, budget, reporting and governance are agreed before activation.
