AfriTrace Link is Goblis Foundation's cross-cutting digital traceability, evidence and market-access platform. It can support Jikimu, Mashinani and institutional evidence work without becoming a third programme or exposing private records.

Why AfriTrace Link exists
Connect the evidence around a journey without turning people into data points.
Development work often produces fragmented registrations, field notes, partner records, product information, financial evidence and outcome reports. AfriTrace Link creates controlled links between those records so provenance is clearer, duplication is reduced and authorised users can follow the right evidence chain.
Evidence
Preserve source, date, responsible actor, consent or authority context, verification state and later corrections instead of flattening every record into a claim.
Market access
Where appropriate, connect eligible enterprises, producers, products and partners to responsible market, logistics or fulfilment pathways without guaranteeing a sale.

AfriTrace Link enables Jikimu and Mashinani; it does not absorb them.

AfriTrace Link is designed as a phased platform. The public website distinguishes the current Foundation data/evidence layer from capabilities that are being piloted, configured or prepared for future integrations.
Participant & programme journeys
Governed relationship, programme episode, longitudinal follow-up, evidence and outcome-state patterns already exist in Foundation Operations.
Grant & evidence provenance
Grant lifecycle, funder workspaces, MERM DQA and evidence references provide a controlled institutional trace.
Scoped identity & access
Organisation roles and minimum-necessary access help keep a trace useful without opening unrelated participant or finance records.
GIS & place context
Location evidence can connect county, subcounty, ward, locality and approved service areas to Mashinani and delivery records where lawful and useful.
Enterprise & value-chain trace
Enterprise, producer, product, custody and transformation events can be introduced for approved value chains without assuming every programme needs supply-chain tracking.
QR & DPP-style records
QR-linked evidence and Digital Product Passport-style data patterns can be supported where a real market, regulatory or buyer requirement exists. This is not a certification claim.
Market, logistics & fulfilment
Approved connectors can link eligible enterprises or value chains to market and logistics services while keeping commercial terms and provider authority explicit.
Controlled APIs
API and event interfaces can expose only the data purpose, authority and partner agreement permit, with connector health and source-of-truth controls.

Record source, date, responsible actor, consent/authority, supporting file or reference and evidence maturity.
04Verify before claiming
Traceability can show where information came from; MERM, Finance or another accountable function still decides whether it is verified.
05Share the minimum necessary
Partners, funders, buyers or the public receive only the approved slice of information required for the agreed purpose.
Trust by design
Traceability must not become surveillance.
AfriTrace Link follows the same Foundation privacy, safeguarding and evidence rules as the rest of the platform. A useful trace should make responsibility and evidence clearer—not expose people merely because data can be collected.

Plain-language guide
Terms used on this page
- Traceability
- The ability to follow a governed record or event back to its source, responsible actor, time and evidence context. Traceability does not by itself prove that an outcome claim is true.
- Evidence provenance
- Information showing where evidence came from, who produced or observed it, when it was recorded and what verification state it has reached.
- Digital Product Passport-style record
- A structured set of product or value-chain information that can be linked digitally where a real market or regulatory use case exists. AfriTrace Link does not claim a certification merely by storing the data.
- Market access
- A governed pathway connecting eligible enterprises, producers or products to buyers, logistics or other commercial opportunities; it is not a guarantee of sale or income.
