A few useful answers

Before you give

Can I give from outside Kenya?

Yes, through an available verified channel. Choose a supported currency and check your bank or payment provider's exchange rate, fees and recipient eligibility before confirming. Use only the Foundation account instructions issued for your reference.

Compare options from your country

Check locally licensed international-transfer providers, your bank, and the verified channels shown above. Availability and costs vary.

No location tracking: this selection stays in your browser.

Choose your country for guidance. Start with secure online checkout, or choose a direct bank transfer if you prefer.
Is there a minimum contribution?

There is no minimum contribution set by the Foundation; any positive contribution is welcome. Banks and payment providers may set their own minimums and limits. Any online checkout minimum is shown before payment.

Can I support the work regularly?

Choose your preferred frequency under Regular support. Automatic recurring giving appears only where activated and requires separate consent. You can also arrange voluntary repeated bank transfers.

How will my contribution be acknowledged?

Once your online payment is verified, your private status page offers a PDF acknowledgement with a QR code and an option to email a copy. Your reference connects your contribution to its purpose.

Cards & digital wallets

The secure checkout shows only methods activated for the Foundation account. Available card brands, wallets and currencies are confirmed before you pay. Never enter a card number, wallet PIN or PayPal password on a Foundation form.

How is my information used?

We use your details to process and acknowledge support. Donating does not subscribe you to marketing. Read our Privacy Policy and Support Policy.

Programme names and useful terms, explained
Jikimu
Kiswahili for “to sustain oneself”. Our programme supports people building businesses with a social or environmental purpose.
Mashinani
Kiswahili for “at the grassroots”. Our programme supports rural communities to identify priorities and coordinate practical responses.
Social enterprise
A business that aims to solve a social or environmental problem while working towards a sustainable income.
Referral
An introduction to a suitable organisation or specialist, made with permission. The receiving organisation decides which services it can offer.
Due diligence
Checks on an organisation, its plans, responsibilities and safeguards before a formal agreement.
Restricted or named fund
Money managed for an agreed purpose under written rules. A proposed fund becomes active only after the required reviews and agreement.
GFD reference
The unique reference for a planned direct bank contribution. It connects the intended purpose, transfer instructions and follow-up records; creating one does not move money.
Finance reconciliation
Matching a payment against the Foundation’s financial records. A successful online payment is confirmed separately from the payment provider’s later payout.
Safeguarding
Preventing and responding to harm, abuse or exploitation involving people who take part in our work.
Outputs and outcomes
Outputs are activities delivered or things produced. Outcomes are changes that result, such as improved skills or more reliable access to a service.
